For Freedoms 2020

2020

I am honored to have my contribution to the @forfreedoms 2020 Awakening Campaign live on my island home. National government and mainstream media habitually marginalize the U.S. territories within the Caribbean. This campaign brings long overdue attention back to the islands and engages them as equal members.

A painting I created, during the summer 2020, following the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. This painting depicts 3 young Black boys playing in the ocean. They represent the innocence of my 2 sons and that of all Black children.

Descent of the Abiku at the Corridors Gallery

2001

Inspired by a dream, these paintings are part of a series of mildly abstracted pieces that present the future, not in the chronological sense, but rather in a sense of the possibilities. Each painting is a raw expression of life and love giving rise to a sense of the fantastic within the ordinary.
